From Field Tool to App Store: What We Learned Building ACLogics
The journey of ACLogics from a fast web app to a fully-featured iOS application for HVAC technicians, the challenges we faced, and our commitment to our users.
AI Summary
Explores the transition of ACLogics from a web app to a native iOS application. Details the challenges of app store deployment, the varying user adoption of updates, and the commitment to supporting early users who faced onboarding issues.
ACLogics did not begin as a software idea.
It started in the field.
We work in HVAC, and we kept running into the same problem. Diagnosis takes experience. New technicians get stuck. Even experienced techs sometimes hesitate when the situation is unclear.
We wanted a clearer way to think through problems. Step by step. Based on real field logic.
So we built ACLogics.
Starting with a Web App
The first version was a web app.
It was fast to build. Anyone could open it from Chrome, Safari, or Edge. No installation. Every update showed up instantly.
That part worked well.
Over time, we saw how it behaved in real jobs.
Technicians were switching between tabs, notes, and tools. The workflow kept breaking. Small interruptions added up and slowed everything down.
In HVAC work, you need answers quickly. The right app should help you stay focused and move faster, especially during diagnosis.
That was when we decided to move forward with a real mobile app.
Moving to the App Store
We decided to bring ACLogics to iOS.
This was our first time doing it.
We thought it would be straightforward. It was not.
We submitted the app, got rejected, fixed things, and tried again. This cycle repeated several times.
Eventually, we passed review and got approved.
It took time, and we learned a lot through the process.
A Big Difference We Didn’t Expect
On the web, updates are simple.
You deploy changes, and users see them right away.
On iOS, updates depend on the user.
Some update quickly. Some wait. Some stay on older versions.
This creates a gap.
There is no single version in use. There are many versions running at the same time.
From our side, everything looks current. From the user side, the experience can vary a lot.
We did not fully understand how much this would affect real users.
What Happened to Our Early Users
This is the part we care about most.
Some early users ran into problems:
- The app would not open
- Email registration did not go through
- Diagnosis uploads failed
- The process stopped there
When that happens, most people do not report it. They simply move on.
We understand that.
During that period, we were pushing updates very quickly. Version 1.0.1 to 1.0.5 went out within one month. For a small team, that pace was intense.
We were fixing issues as fast as we could.
Some users experienced the product in the middle of that process.
What We Learned
A few things became clear:
- Speed alone does not create a good experience
- Mobile apps require a different approach than web tools
- Onboarding issues matter more than anything else
- Early users carry the most risk
Modern HVAC apps can improve diagnostics and reduce errors, but only when they actually work smoothly in the field.
We had to learn that the hard way.
Where Things Stand Now
We believe the current version is stable.
There is still more to improve, but the core experience feels solid now.
ACLogics is still focused on the same goal.
Help technicians think clearly. Reduce guesswork. Make diagnosis more structured.
To Our Early Users
Some of you tried ACLogics early and ran into issues before you could even get started.
You gave it a chance, and the experience did not hold up.
We are sorry for that.
Come Back and Try Again
If you tried ACLogics earlier and got stuck during registration or onboarding, we would really like you to come back and try again.
We have made improvements, and we want you to experience it properly this time.
A Small Make-Up
If you previously registered or attempted to register, you can reach out to us.

We will verify it on our side and add 6 months of free access to your account.
Still Building
We are still a small team.
We are still learning.
Every version teaches us something new.
Everything we build comes from real HVAC work, and we will keep improving it step by step.
